Behold the worlds first medieval electronic instrument! The teenage engineering EP–1320 Medieval Instrumentalis Electronicum is a middle-ages-themed sampler and composer with hundreds of built-in live-recorded medieval samples, sounds, and instruments. All handcrafted medieval instruments have been meticulously sampled and are playable across the 12 pads.

The EP–1320 features 128MB of total storage with 96MB of hardwired medieval sounds and 32MB of user sample storage. Sample, edit, compose, and perform, all in one machine. There's even a built-in microphone and speaker for spontaneous inspiration. The powerful sequencer is easy to use and includes seven medieval effects and 12 punch-in Pocus effects that are exclusive to the Medieval's pads, chop, and loop functions.

Playable Medieval Instruments

Alongside a bucketful of one-shot samples, the EP–1320 Instrumentalis Electronicum features a number of readily playable medieval instruments. Play them on the paeds or on an external MIDI keyboard.
  • Among the stringed instruments are hurdy gurdy, citole, bowed harp, and gittern.
  • Reeds and brass include bagpipes, shawn, flutes, and trumpets.
  • Drums and percussion hits including frame drums, tambourines, chain rattles, battle toms, clappers, bells, and coconut horse hooves.
  • Various Foley and sound effects such as swords, arrows, farm animals, no less than two separate witches, rowdy peasants, and an actual dragon.
