iFi Audio Hip-Dac 2

Building upon the success of the original, the hip-dac2 has had a makeover inside and out. Internally, the unit features a 16-core XMOS chip, which processes data over USB and delivers double the clock speed and four times the memory. You'll find a noticeable boost in overall performance as well as full MQA decoding and an upgraded crystal clock, which provides a purer, crisper sound. Externally, the hip-dac2's sleek aluminum enclosure features a vibrant sunset orange color scheme.

The hip-dac2 is equipped with a Burr-Brown DAC chip, which offers a fluid, highly musical sound. The True Native architecture along with iFi's custom circuitry, ensures the hip-dac2 can deliver remarkable sound quality across digital audio formats including bit-perfect DSD and MQA.

The amplifier provides a balanced output of 400mW at 32 ohms or an S-balanced output of 280mW, giving it the ability to drive high-impedance headphones, while the PowerMatch switchable gain adjusts the input sensitivity to match the level of drive to the load of your headphones. Additionally, the hip-dac2 features XBass, an analog bass boost that enhances low frequencies without muddying the midrange, which is particularly useful with earphones and open-back headphones that may lack deep bass. And because its processing is in the analog domain, the circuit mitigates any signal degradation with the digital signal via DSP.

The hip-dac2 is equipped with a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery, which provides up to 8 hours of continuous operation. It ships with a USB data cable, an OTG (Android) cable, and a USB charging cable.
